Saboti Member of Parliament (MP) Caleb Amisi has stated that their Linda Mwananchi faction must take over the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) from their Linda Ground rivals.
While speaking in a video post shared on his social media handles on Monday, March 23, 2026, the outspoken leader said that the party is currently in the hands of people he termed “hyenas”, who never believed in the ideals of the late Raila Odinga, who formed and led the party for two decades of its existence.
He further emphasised that the legacy of the late Raila Odinga must be preserved and that they will not allow it to go down the drain.
He cited how the late leader suffered under Kenyan democracy, being imprisoned for seven years while fighting for multipartyism, only to die with his legacy being taken over by people who do not believe in him.
“We must take over the ODM party from the hyenas that have taken it over. The party is currently under the control of people who never believed in the ideals of Raila Odinga.”
Caleb Amisi further added that their upcoming NDC, dubbed the People’s NDC, which is supposed to be a parallel NDC to the Oburu Odinga-led Linda Ground NDC, is when they will announce the ODM lineup going forward.
ODM fragmentation
Suba South MP Caroli Omondi, who is also an integral member of the Linda Mwananchi faction, on his part has stated that the ODM party is going to experience a major split, with two factions emerging, one taking the party official documents and the other taking the supporters who believe in the ideals of the late Raila Odinga.
He added that ODM was already “sold” last December in Trans Mara to individuals he didn’t mention and that he had been invited to that forum but refused to attend.
Roots Party leader George Wajackoya, on his side, recently slammed the Linda Ground faction, saying that the ODM faction that carries the spirit of the late Raila Odinga is the one that includes Siaya Governor James Orengo. He urged the Luo nation that if they want change in the country, they must follow Orengo.
Upcoming ODM NDC
This also comes ahead of the much-anticipated ODM NDC, which will take place at Jamhuri Grounds on Friday, March 27, 2026, and be conducted by Oburu Odinga and the entire Linda Ground bandwagon. A parallel NDC will take place at a yet-to-be-disclosed venue under the Edwin Sifuna team.
