Say NO To "Bread Based" Politics

This movement didn't start in boardrooms or political backrooms—it ignited on the streets and spread like wildfire across timelines, screens, and airwaves. From the boda boda stages of Kitengela to the buzzing corridors of TikTok, from parliamentary debates to everyday conversations at bus stops, the cry of "Sisi ndio Sifuna" has become the heartbeat of a new Kenya. Here, we capture the moments—big and small—that prove this is more than a slogan. It's a wave. Scroll through the rallies that are shaking the ground, the posts that are breaking the internet, and the faces of Kenyans who have decided: silence is no longer an option. This is the momentum. This is the movement. This is us.

What We Stand For

The Constitutional Covenant

We believe the 2010 Constitution is the only covenant that binds us as a nation. That is why our manifesto is not a list of “shiny things”—stadiums, laptops, roads—that can be dangled in front of us and then forgotten. Instead, we are focused on the software of governance: transparency, accountability, the rule of law, human rights, democracy, and social justice. These are the promises enshrined in the Constitution’s preamble, and we will not rest until those promises are kept for every Kenyan.

Enforcing the 10-Point Agenda

When the Memorandum of Understanding between President Ruto and Raila Odinga was signed in March 2025, it came with a clear 10‑point agenda. That agenda was supposed to deliver concrete benefits: compensation for the families of protest victims, solutions to the education crisis, a functioning Social Health Authority, and more. We are the ones demanding that this agreement be implemented in full. We refuse to let it become another empty political document. If the broad‑based government was formed on this understanding, then it must deliver—not just for a few leaders, but for all Kenyans.

Protecting the "Soul of ODM

We are not rebels; we are the true guardians of ODM’s identity. We will not allow the party that was built on the sweat and blood of its founders to be sold, swallowed, or reduced to a mere appendage of UDA or the Kenya Kwanza government. This fight is about rescuing the soul of ODM—the legacy of Raila Odinga and the dream of a party that stands with the people. That is why we reject the so‑called “broad‑based government” that has turned our opposition into silence. We are ODM, and ODM must remain the voice of the common mwananchi.

Economic Justice and Youth Empowerment

Our young people are tired. They are taxed to the bone, forced into unemployment, and then blamed for the chaos that follows. We fight for them. We oppose the crushing taxes that kill small businesses—ask any boda boda rider who can barely survive. We stand against forced evictions and the exploitation of workers, like the unpaid employees at sugar mills in the Nyanza belt. We believe that when the economy works for the youth, the country works for everyone. That is why our slogan is Linda Mwananchi—protect the citizen. Because the citizen is the one who is always left holding the short end of the stick.

Accountability and Decency in Leadership

We have had enough of leaders who insult, belittle, and govern by shouting. We have spoken out against the President’s own words when they cross the line into hate speech and body shaming. A leader who cannot control his tongue is a danger to the nation. We demand decency. We demand that those in power respect the offices they hold and the people they serve. This is not about being polite; it is about ensuring that the country is not dragged into chaos by reckless words.

Commitment to Internal Party Democracy

We practice what we preach. If we want democracy in Kenya, we must first have it in our own party. That is why we are holding a People’s National Delegates Convention on March 27, 2026—a parallel NDC because the official one called by the other faction is illegal and undemocratic. We are giving a platform to party members who have been excluded, silenced, or pushed aside. Because to us, the fight for a just Kenya begins with a just party.

The Road to the People’s NDC

Our Demands. Our Actions

  • Brief: The March 2025 MoU between President Ruto and Raila Odinga included 10 promises to Kenyans – compensation for protest victims, education capitation, and a functional health authority. These have not been fulfilled.

  • Our Action: We are rallying across the country, holding public forums to expose the government’s failure and demanding accountability. Our parallel NDC on March 27 will issue a formal resolution to push for immediate implementation.

  • Brief: ODM must remain the people’s party, not a junior partner in a coalition that silences opposition. We reject the “broad‑based government” that has weakened our voice.

  • Our Action: We are mobilizing party members through the People’s National Delegates Convention – a democratic platform for members excluded from the illegal NDC called by the Linda Ground faction. This is how we safeguard the soul of ODM.

  • Brief: Crushing taxes, forced evictions, and unpaid wages are suffocating ordinary Kenyans. The youth especially are locked out of opportunities while being used as political pawns.

  • Our Action: We have filed petitions challenging unfair tax measures, organized solidarity visits with affected workers (such as sugar mill employees in the Nyanza belt), and consistently raised these issues in Parliament and in the streets.

    Help Fuel The Resistance!

This movement runs on the people's power, not the politician's pocketbook. We have no billionaires bankrolling our agenda—just millions of Kenyans who believe that another Kenya is possible. Your contribution prints the banners at the next rally, fuels the vehicles that carry our leaders to the grassroots, pays the legal fees when they lock up our activists, and keeps the digital platforms running where our voices refuse to be silenced. The system has bottomless resources; we have each other. Every shilling matters because every shilling comes from a Kenyan who refused to sit down, shut up, and accept things as they are. Sisi ndio Sifuna—because we fund what we believe in.
